Watership Down

by Richard Adams

Watership Down is the story of a group of rabbits who flee from their home warren. It was published in 1972 by a small group known as Rex Collings. It won several awards, including the coveted Carnegie Medal. Watership Down is an entirely real place, as is the River Test and Nuthanger Farm. Actually, everything except for the animals and humans themselves are real in the novel. Pictures of the warren as well as what the rabbits were portrayed as can be found in the photo gallery.
